How it works
1. Sign up
Download the DeisBikes app and sign in with your @brandeis.edu email. We email you a one-time code; there's no password to remember. Add your name and phone number so staff can reach you about a ride.
2. Get approved
The DeisBikes team reviews new accounts. You'll get access once you're approved.
3. Agreement and safety course
Read and accept the rider agreement, then watch the short in-app safety course. You only do this once, unless the agreement changes.
4. Find a bike and unlock it
The map shows available bikes and the campus boundary. Open a bike and tap Unlock. Before riding, check that the brakes, tires and lights work.
5. Ride
The app shows how long you've been riding and how much time is left. You'll get a reminder before the time limit and another if you go past it.
6. End your ride on campus
Park inside the campus boundary and tap End Ride. The app checks your location, locks the bike and ends the ride. If you're outside the boundary, ride back to campus first.
Stuck off campus? If you truly can't get back (a flat tire, an injury, an unsafe situation), choose the emergency option in the app and tell us what happened. Staff will collect the bike. If anyone is hurt or in danger, call 911 first.
